In 2007 The Owners of the Château de Padiès launched an initial Festival and consequently formed the association Culture&Cultures.
Padiès, a X11-XVII century château, surrounded by seventeen hectares is our home.
This year Château de PADIÈS joined the DaST collection of properties, Palacio Belmonte, Portugal; Castelnau des Fieumarcon, France and JiuXian Garden Village, China. DaST’s charter “Create links and value between Landscape, Architectural Heritage, traditional activities and social habits while introducing a sustainable and contemporary way of life” is very much in keeping with Padiès’ concern with sustainable development, permaculture and sound farming and building practices.
Culture&Cultures is a valuable extension of this. Here we celebrate the cultures of music, film, literature, photography, sculpture and painting with our Artist in Residence program and exhibitions. The artists in residence are the instigators and inspiration for many of our exhibitions, seminars, concerts and workshops that are open to the public including special school inspirational programs.
Enjoying and preparing food together is a natural extension to our way of life.
Intercultural dialogue is fundamental to our thinking.
Intercultural Dialogue
Encourages an identification of the boundaries that define individuals, and then asks them to relate across those boundaries and even to call them into question, reflecting on the human condition and the ONEness of man.
